TOKYO METROPOLITAN GOVERNMENT BUILDING OBSERVATORIES

This interesting building was designed by Tange Kenzo (1913-2005), famous Japanese architect. It was completed in 1991. Since then it became one of the symbols of Shinjuku. It is great that the panoramic observation deck is free and you can enjoy a beautiful view from the 45th floor which is at the height of 202 m.

Shinjuku Sumitomo Building to the left, completed in 1974, is 210 m tall
Mode Gakuen Cocoon Tower from 2008, 204 m tall, to the left. Really looks like a cocoon 🙂   Tokyo Sky Tree, which we have already visited, is in the background
Look closely and carefully because approximately in the middle of the photo you can see a slight silhouette of  Fuji San – Mount Fuji
Sunset caused a lot of excitement among the onlookers

I am checking where I actually was – it was in the tower to the right
I am already leaving for metro but I want to capture the colonnade which surrounds the courtyard under the building and  remembers me to the open arms of the Vatican colonnade. Airplane in the sky
