This Buddhist temple is a very spiritual place. The first hut which St. Nichiren had following his coming to Kamakura was reputedly here. In my article RYUUKOU-JI AND ST. NICHIREN I have mentioned that St. Nichiren had published a book Rissho Ankokuron. In those times there was Matsubagayatsu hermitage, where he wrote it, on this spot. This why the name of the temple here is Ankokuron ji.
