MUCHA IN BRNO

Mucha Brno Exhibition poster and me

Last year I had a beautiful experience visiting Mucha exhibition in the National Art Center in Tokyo. That was on 22nd March 2017.  You can read my article MUCHA IN TOKYO about it.  Today, on this cold winter day in Brno, in the Czech Republic, I am to see works of this wonderful Czech artist again. It is 20th December 2018 and the exhibition will soon come to its end. It takes place from 26th May until 31st December 2018. But I do not want to miss it and  my visit is also a good opportunity for taking my nephew along and introducing him to the work of famous Mucha. My nephew is a university student in Brno and in my opinion students should broaden their horizon in every possible way.

Photography is strictly prohibited inside the exhibition pavillion. However, we can enjoy viewing 9 of 20 canvases of The Slav Epic. 11 are missing in comparison with Tokyo. To make up for canvasses not being exhibited here there is a huge collection of posters. Viewing them makes you understand why Mucha is an Art Nouveau icon.
